What is HPTN 062?

 


Protocol Status: In Development

Study Summary

Study Purpose: To assess the feasibility and acceptability of an individual-level HIV prevention intervention for individuals with acute HIV infection (AHI)

Study Design: Prospective cohort study

Study Population: Individuals with AHI and clinicians and other providers who deliver the prevention intervention

Study Size: 60 individuals with AHI, depending on numbers identified, and 20 clinicians and other providers

Study Duration: The study will be conducted over a period of approximately 18 months. The prevention intervention will be delivered over a period of ten months with six months of follow-up.

Treatment Regimen: Two to four intervention sessions which will occur weekly from the time of diagnosis with AHI

Primary Objectives: To assess the feasibility and acceptability of an individual-level HIV prevention intervention for individuals with AHI in South Africa, Malawi, and the United States
