Maria Christina Herrera, M.D., is a fellow in the Adolescent Medicine division and the Pediatric Hospital Epidemiology and Outcomes Training Program at CHOP. She is also pursuing a Master of Science in Health Policy (MSHP) at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Herrera’s research focus addresses the intersection of the HIV and substance use disorder (SUD) epidemics for adolescents and young adults. She is particularly interested in access to treatment and prevention initiatives for historically marginalized and disenfranchised groups, namely Black and Latinx youth.
