HPTN Scholars Project: "Mapping the Mechanisms of Peer Navigation in HPTN 094: Understanding How Integrated Strategies Drive Implementation and Clinical Outcomes"
Juan Pablo Zapata is a Clinical Psychologist and Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as Associate Director of the Lab for Scalable Mental Health, which develops and evaluates scalable solutions to reduce treatment gaps, with a focus on single-session interventions. Dr. Zapata earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Marquette University, completed his Health Psychology internship at the University of Washington, and received NIH T32 postdoctoral training in translational science, HIV, and sexual and gender minority health. He is also a Fellow of the Implementation Research Institute at Washington University in St. Louis. His research centers on adapting multi-session digital and behavioral interventions into scalable, culturally responsive formats using intervention mapping and human-centered design.
