Dr. Matoga is a physician with training in infectious disease epidemiology and implementation science. He is an assistant professor of medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. He directs the STI research and clinical services program and leads the implementation science research unit at UNC Project-Malawi. He has over 15 years of experience conducting research in HIV, STIs and implementation science. Dr. Matoga’s research has focused on many areas of STIs including vaccine studies, prevalence and epidemiology studies, antimicrobial resistance surveillance studies, partner notification studies, and HIV prevention studies among STI patients.
