Ying Qing Chen

Dr. Ying Qing Chen received his PhD in Biostatistics from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in 1999. He has been working on new statistical methods development and applications, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention. He is an HPTN Faculty Statistician and was the lead statistician for the HPTN 052 Study, a "Scientific Breakthrough" named by the Science.

He has been PI, co-PI and co-Investigator for several NIH-sponsored projects, and was a Chartered Member for the NIH Study Section on AIDS and Clinical Epidemiology. He was the elected Biometrics Section Chair of the International Chinese Statistical Association, and has been an elected Fellow for the American Statistical Association.
