2017 HPTN African Regional Meeting

Meeting Objectives

1. Enhance and support new ideas generation by African investigators
2. Enhance partnership and fostering engagement between HPTN leadership and site leadership and staff
3. Enhance the quality of study conduct through sharing successful experiences from sites implementing key HPTN trials in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA)

Target Audience

The intended audience for the 2017 HPTN Regional Meeting includes African Clinical Trial Units (CTUs)/Clinical Research Sites (CRS) Site staff participating in HPTN 071, 075, HPTN 076, HPTN 077, HPTN 081, HPTN 082, HPTN 084; Principal Investigators/IORs; CRS key study staff (study coordinators, study clinicians/nurses, laboratory representatives, pharmacists, community staff responsible for community engagement & cohort recruitment and retention). Additional participants will include the HPTN leadership; invited speakers; potential new partners/investigators/sites; and sponsors/NIH. For illustrative purposes, the site teams may be comprised of the following staff (which is also dependent on your CTU/CTS structure):

• PI of CTU
• IOR of CRS
• One study coordinator per CRS
• One investigator per CRS
• One pharmacist per CRS
• One laboratory technician per CRS
• One community member per CRS
